Anti-fatigue mats can be used anywhere that a resilient flooring surface is practical for worker comfort and does not pose a safety threat. For example, a mat may not be practical where rolling carts are heavily utilized, where sharp-edged surfaces or implements may contact the flooring surface, or anywhere that stability is an issue. Care needs to be taken when placing matting so that it does not become a tripping hazard. Some designs such as the Andersen Happy Feet mat are available with highly-visible safety strips on the edges to improve worker safety.
