Anti-fatigue mats can be used anywhere that a resilient flooring surface is practical for worker comfort and does not pose a safety threat. For example, a mat may not be practical where rolling carts are heavily utilized, where sharp-edged surfaces or implements may contact the flooring surface, or anywhere that stability is an issue. Care needs to be taken when placing anti fatigue mats so that they does not become a tripping hazard. Some designs such as Andersen Happy Feet mat are available with highly-visible safety strips on the edges to improve worker safety.
